Analysis: Before we go to the swot analysis of Apple Inc. We need to know about the company history. According to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_Inc. Apple was founded by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak, and Ronald Wayne on April 1, 1976, to develop and sell personal computers. It was incorporated as Apple Computer, Inc. on January 3, 1977, and was renamed as Apple Inc. on January 9, 2007, to reflect its shifted focus towards consumer electronics.
The Company Business
Apple Inc. designs, develops, and
sells consumer electronics, computer software, online services, and personal
computers. Its best-known hardware products are the Mac line of computers, the
iPod media player, the iPhone smartphone, and the iPad tablet computer. Its
online services include iCloud, iTunes Store, and App Store. Apple's consumer
software includes the OS X and iOS operating systems, the iTunes media browser,
the Safari web browser, and the iLife and iWork creativity and productivity
suites.

Strength:
- Brand Awareness and Reputation
- Superior design
- Apple Inc. have a large number of loyal user in the world
- Elegant design and great quality of materials
- Marketing, promotion | advertising capabilities
- In term of sales Apple retail stores are the most profitable
Weakness:
- Expensive | Highly Price. This is the weakens point of Apple because nowadays customer is easy to get a similar product but with lower price.
- Lack of innovation
- Incompatibility with another operating system. For example the function of Bluetooth on Iphone. The Bluetooth connection only compatible with another Apple device. User can’t using the Bluetooth connection with other brand.
- Patent Infringements
- Defects of new product
Opportunities
- Demand of Smartphones and tablet are highly growing, Apple Inc can seize on this.
- iTV Launch. It will support and increase sales in TV Market.
- Obtaining patents through acquisitions.
- Developing the software of the product. Users always want to using their device with easy and compatible with other OS.
- Damaged from patent infringements
- Increasing demand for cloud based service
Threat
- Rapid technological change is the biggest threat which Apple and its competitors are experiencing now days. As customers are become more technology lover and they want more and more new products in very short time due to this, companies are facing pressure. So competition is very high and the one who cannot remain themselves with rivalry shortly be unsuccessful.
- Other similar company such as Samsung and other brand continue to cut Apple's market share.
- Android Growth. Android operating system is the main competitor of Apple OS. The dominance of Android decreases the iOS.
- Increasement in Tax (2013) in US affect the Apple’s growth.
